Thank you everyone for your emails and gentle reminders that I have not provided a personal update for a while, yes I know I am slack and have been so busy getting the time in between weddings and families and couples and well life in general has been a bit of a challenge with not enough hours in the day to get everything done, sorry !!. Big News Adelaide is now WALKING !! – Look out I hear all the parents around the place sayAnd well yes, you are all right, she has taken to our stairs, shelves, draws and anything that basically is not bolted down LOL. She has even worked out how to get down off of the bedOne of these days I will take a photo of the mess generated by a 1 year old !! The first 1/2 of this year we had a little bit of time off, basically we are gearing up for a busy April with weddings and a fantastic trip to New Zealand. I was archiving some of my personal photos today and found these images that were taken on Australia Day. Thanks Jules for the invitation, I have not had a water fight for years and years !! Anyway to all of our friends and loved ones, hope you are all well. Take care and best wishes – Darren, Sarena and Adelaide.

I took a drive out recently to Kleinton to meet a wonderful family. I know I say this all of the time but there is something to be said about the beauty that exists sometimes on your front door step and this place was definitely one of those wonderful areas. Lots of trees and grass, a very friendly cow who loved being scratched under the chin, a wondering rooster that wakes everyone up according to mum at 3.00am, horses, dogs and the cutiest “My little Pony” horse that I have ever seen Allow me to introduce the family – (Mum) Raelene, (Dad) Richard then there is the lovely Caitlin (12), Harry who is (8) and little Jonathan who is (3). Thank you all so very much for letting me spend some time with your family and animals– As promised here are just a few of my favorites from the day. I look forward to your feedback

{Woodlands Wedding – Anna and Josh !}

Before I commence this post just need to congratulate Josh and Anna who’s wedding I had the pleasure of photographing recently. I took some family photos of Josh and Anna and the kids some time ago and when I was asked to do the wedding, it was an absolute pleasure to say YES ! The wedding ceremony and the reception was being held at Woodlands of Marburg, (One of the hottest days on record OMG !! ), if you, like me, are one of the many 100’s of people that drive by on the highway and say to your partner we really should go there some day, do yourself a huge favour and go and visit it is well worth while. My partner in crime -AKA Loren, arrived nice and early to have a look around the grounds, and with so many places to have photos it was slightly overwhelming with the amount of locations that were available. Anna, you could not have asked for a more wonderful day. Once again it was a pleasure to capture the moments, I hope you enjoyed the day. – Huge shout out to the wedding co-ordinator on the day, very organised and your assistance was appreciated. Anyway guys enjoy the honeymoon and here are a few to keep the friends and family interested whilst you are away. ENJOY and remember if you visit, don’t hesitate to leave a comment!

{Dreams Can Come True} !

It brings me overwhelming joy when you connect with a family, I mean my job as a photographer is to always try and connect with the individuals/ families that I shoot, but sometimes an individual/family comes along and shows true courage and compassion even when life throws a change of path in the mix ! You might remember that young Emma was the winner of my “Free Photo shoot” (thanks to Melissa Strong for the nomination), and I was so looking forward to capturing some amazing moments especially for Emma and her family, something that they can hold and cherish and that will take pride of place in the family home. Mum (Louise) and I had big plans and the planning for the photo shoot was over many days, we were looking for a sunny day, and instead got very overcast and slightly raining conditions which narrowed the opportunity for photos, so we ended up going to the Railway station. Ohh I forgot to introduce the family ! – Louise (Mum) and Keith (Dad) then there is Luke, Dean and finally Emma.

Emma was diagnosed with childhood cancer (muscle tumor cancer) at age 2 1/2 and has in her young life battled not once but twice with this horrible disease, at the moment Emma is back at school and getting regular checkups every 8 weeks. After speaking with Louise and Keith about the impact to them as a family with mum caring for Emma in Brisbane and Dad caring for the 2 boys in Toowoomba and working part time, she wanted me to make special mention of an organisation called the “Childhood Cancer Support – CCS“. As a charity, CCS receives no direct Government Funding (can you believe it) and relies completely on the generous donations and sponsorship of many caring individuals. 100 % of the money raised goes back into supporting these amazing children and their families. The organisations aim is to keep families together and provide support and assistance.

I have included the link to the CCS if you would like to make a donation, I am sure that the organisation would sincerely appreciate it. And finally I just want to thank you the Donaldson family you are all so truly inspirational, it was my pleasure. A equal thank you to Jill who come along for the ride – Jill I appreciate your assistance, company (and coffee)
